Teddy’s Tavern has been a staple in the Stroudsburg community since the early 1930’s. We have always been a small local bar trying to serve reasonably priced beer and food to our great customers. Named after the original owner, Teddy’s got its nickname Teddy’s University in the late 1980’s after many East Stroudsburg University students turned it into their local hangout. The nickname Teddy’s University has stuck since. More recently we have become one of the leading sports bar in our area. We offer many sports games as well as the NFL Sunday Ticket, and every NY Rangers game on our 13 TVs. With all of our Rangers memorabilia as well as the atmosphere, we have been mentioned on the NHL’s website as a top bar in PA to be for Rangers Playoff Games. Our food has kept tradition, cheesesteaks, wings, burgers, and we add some new items to our menu regularly with daily specials also. Over the past 10 years we have won local awards for Best Cheesesteak, Best Sports Bar, Best Wings, and have top finishes for Best Tavern, Best Bar, and multiple others.
After Teddy, the second owners were Phil and Mary Nickolas. They then sold Teddy’s to Ron Schraeder who owned and operated it from 1984 until his passing in 2019. Ron’s son, Joe, moved back after college in 2012 to help his Dad run Teddy’s. Joe took over ownership in 2018 and since his dad’s passing has solely owned and operated Teddy’s. We got a brand new kitchen in 2018 as well as a facelift inside the bar in 2022. We like to think of Teddy’s as a great local neighborhood bar with excellent pub food, reasonably priced. We try to create a great sports atmosphere where everyone can cheer for their team while enjoying the company of family and friends. We hope to see you here!
